I awoke sunday with a more positive mindset. I was in less pain and I could walk much easier on my foot which was good news. Our main plan today was to take the bikes back, which I have to say we were not looking forward to after gazing over the price list for broken parts. Expecting around a 5000 baht bill, when Jack walked through the door and stated I had been charged 14000 baht (230 pounds) I nearly fainted. Jack had even been charged 6000 baht for a few minor scratches he had obtained whilst off road the day previous. We both swore vengence on the shop and on everything Thai. Worried this may ruin a part of my holiday I rang direct line who said I'm covered on insurance so all is not lost.

We then went for a walk around koh tao or as long as I could managed, eventually settling down at a bar to watch the grand prix. The bar resembled an english sports bar and served all the lagers, beers and food you would expect. In the spirit of the place I felt it right to order a pie and chips and it arrived just as the grand prix started. The race was not the best I had seen but there was one hell of a cheer when Massa broke down with 3 laps to go. By this point we had got talking to some people round the table and then after the grand prix I decided to go home to get some rest; leaving Jack to order another tower of beer after already demolishing one.

I got an early night and watched some films on various channels that were available on the TV. At around 4.30am Jack rolled in and proceeded in passing out straight to sleep and I managed to get back to sleep quite easily. We were awoken at about 11.30am the next morning by a loud bang at the door.. it turned out to be a girl that I had met all the way up in Chiang Mai. She had come to dive and so said a quick hello before heading back to start her course.

We then got up and headed to play mini golf where we played a round (Jack won again) and then chatted to the english owner of the place for about an hour who had a story to tell about everything and anything. Promising to return one more time before we left Koh Tao we left the man and headed back to our room to get ready and go out for something to eat.

Before that I had to make another visit to the clinic for some iodine torture. All the wounds looked much better, but the iodine still hurt a great deal leading me to say several expletives in the process. For days now the nurse has been a little strange towards me; touching me, holding my hands and now he said I was beautiful. Right there and then I decided it was probably best I treated myself from now on.. for no particular reason except it just feels right.

Alex met up with us again and we all went to dinner before Jack went to bed and we headed to the beach bars to see a few more friends, where we chilled out on the terraces and watched the world go by. A couple of hours later we returned to find Jack was feeling much better and for about an hour we all watched TV before going our seperate ways and going to bed. This morning we were again woken by a rather excitable Alex who persuaded us to get out of bed, which we did not and so she left to go and have fun! Since then we have eaten and rented a DVD player in an attempt to watch Batman - the DVD copy was terrible and so this lasted around 5 minutes before we turned it off.

I feel the blog has slightly lost a lot of its edge and there really is not much to report. The wounds are around 2 or 3 days off recovery and then I promise the blog will be back to its former full glory! Don't worry though this time there will be no mopeds.
